Story Retelling------ St. George and the dragon
Today I don’t have anything special to write about. So my mom asked me to do a story retell. The queen of fairies had George as a baby. The fairies took care of George until he grew up being brave, strong, calm, courteous, quick, and, clever. The fairies told him to take adventures for 6 years. Before he left, the fairies told him his greatest weapon was his brain. George walked and walked until he saw a castle. The people in the castle lived in fear because the kingdom in the castle had a horrible horrible dragon. If the dragon had no animal to eat, it would eat people. George wanted to help them. George and the princess, Sabra, went to the wise old sorcerer for help. The sorcerer said some magic words and an hourglass appeared. They went to the dragon’s lair and waited for the dragon to wake up and kill the dragon. When the dragon woke up, George threw the hourglass at the dragon’s mouth. The dragon blasted fire at George and Sabra but no fire came out because his mouth was frozen by the hourglass. The dragon never came out of the warm water because of fear of becoming an ice statue. George and Sabra saved the kingdom. The king gave George a shield as a reward. I liked the story very much.

Scott, I really enjoy reading your journal. It's getting better and better. You can now retell a story with key points extracted. Try writing more about how your feel about the story, and what you learn or interpret out of the story.
